Actor and director Mario Van Peebles is now documenting black cinema
history. His new work, "How to Get the Man's Foot Outta Your Ass!"
is premiering at the Toronto Film Festival. He co-wrote, directed,
produced and starred in the film which is an autobiographical account
of how his father, filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles, made the revolutionary
1970s black-power film "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song," which
is regarded as the precursor to the blaxploitation genre.
