KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin has assured the country's 850,000 civil servants that they will receive a 10 per cent increase in salary as proposed in the 2000 Budget last year.
Civil servants will also receive a 50 per cent increase in housing allowances and other perks announced in the proposed Budget, such as housing loan eligibility after working for one year with the Government and loans to buy a second house.
