Special programme to help Orang Asli children stay on in school

GOMBAK, Sun. - A special programme, Stay With The School, will be implemented for Orang Asli children in a move to stress the importance of education and to reduce the number of drop-outs.
National Unity and Social Development Minister Datuk Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman said the programme would feature special classes concentrating on aspects important to the community like fishing, cooking, singing and sports.
She said through the programme, the Ministry hoped to develop an interest in education among the Orang Asli children.
