BRITISH outfit Synthomer is investing RM100 million in a synthetic latex factory in Kluang, Johor.

With a capacity of 40,000 tonnes, the factory on a 2.6ha-site in Jalan Batu Pahat will begin operation by the end of next year catering to the local and overseas emulsion synthetic markets.
"We hope to run at full capacity in year 2002," said Synthomer Sdn Bhd managing director Richard F. Bingham.

He was speaking after a ground-breaking ceremony for the plant in Kluang on Saturday, which was officiated by Deputy Human Resources Minister Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad.
