Fire, Rescue Department may get more copters

MIRI, Mon. - The Government may purchase two new helicopters for the Fire and Rescue Department's air-wing unit.
Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Peter Chin said the ministry would propose the matter to the Cabinet soon but added that the new helicopters would however be smaller than the two existing ones.
"The helicopters will be used for rescue operations only as they will not be fitted with fire-fighting gadgets," he said after launching the Miri Jiran Wanita Sales Fair.
