I REFER to the letter "Blame parents for this mess" by Amirtha Amithalingam (NST, Oct 16).
In her letter, Amirtha said that the high percentage of criminal cases among Indian youths should be blamed on parents.
What really touched me about her letter was this following paragraph: "Respect begets respect and that is how it spreads. Is there a notion in any of the Indian scriptures that says children should not be respected?"
I think the above message should not only be directed at Indian parents but to all Malaysian parents as ...
