SHOT putter Saw Mei Ling of SM Union set a record in Penang schools' island district athletic championships at the Universiti Sains Malaysia track yesterday.
Saw hurled the iron ball to a distance of 9.25m in the girls' Class Two of the Kelawai zone.
Schoolmate Tan Kia Wah also won a gold in the girls' Class One shot putt with a throw of 7.99m.
