THE much-debated seven-point system is not only expected to revolutionise the badminton world, but the new scoring system may just be the catalyst that can push the the national shuttlers back among the top, reports K.M. Boopathy.

The new scoring system which will be introduced in the world grand prix circuit beginning July could see some surprises from the national singles shuttlers who feel they will have an equal chance of challenging the top players.
Senior shuttler Yong Hock Kin said the new system, played on a best-of- five games format, suits his style of play.
