LET'S begin by getting one thing straight. Johor Baru is not a party town in the strictest sense of the word. The Southern Gateway is primarily a business-orientated city.
Muar is really the gastronomical capital of the State and Singapore is where you should be heading for if chic and trendy restaurants are your thing.
But Johor Baru does have its moments. The local yuppies usually wind down with a cocktail or a glass of wine at one of the pubs or wine bars in DNP Plaza.
Bodega's wine bar in Jalan Kuning, Pelangi, is a great place to explore wines and the menu runs along the Tex-Mex theme.
