Bigger rice harvest with new machines

PASIR MAS, Tues. - Padi farmers under the Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (Kada) can expect a bigger harvest following the introduction of new combine harvesters this year.

Kada chairman Tan Sri Hussein Ahmad said the new machines were made in Thailand and could reduce wastage during harvesting to about four per cent compared to between 14 and 20 per cent previously.
He said this at a demonstration of the new harvester at Padang Embun today.

Hussein said other advantages of the machine included its adaptability to the different terrains and soil.
