IF you ask game publishers about the value of playing computer games, they are likely to give it a two thumbs-up. And why not? For them, computer games are part of an industry that churns over US$1 billion (RM3.8 billion) in annual revenues.

However, computer game publishers and developers are not necessarily the best guardians of public interest, at least not without some public pressure to curtail their overt capitalistic drive for more profits as well as eccentricities. No, it is up to us consumers to determine the value of playing computer games.
