CONTRARY to suggestions in your article "Old handsets pose brain tumour risk" (NST, Aug 26), a study of 1,617 Swedish patients with brain tumours in fact found no significant increased risk of malignant brain tumours associated with the use of analogue mobile phones.
Dr Lennart Hardell's study has been a subject of controversy and scientific debate and the long-awaited publication of his study ensures it can now undergo proper evaluation by the scientific community.
