THE Checkers Cafe of Dorsett Regency Hotel in Kuala Lumpur is holding a "Heritage of Peranakan" buffet lunch and dinner promotion daily and high tea on weekends until the end of the month.

Sous chef Kenneth Theseira, born and bred in Malacca, has prepared dishes using his family's favourite recipes.
On the buffet line are itek tim, beancurd and salted fish soup, pescador soup, and lemongrass and seafood soup.

Salads include sambal okra, pineapple sambal belacan, chicken feet cincaluk, otak-otak and salted vegetable omelette.
