High fuel consumption

DEAR Paul,
I bought a Daihatsu Aura 1.3 last year. I like the car very much but have a problem with the high petrol consumption that works out to about 0.14 cents per km.
I have serviced the carburettor and changed the needle inside it, but the problems remains. Is there any way of reducing the heavy fuel consumption as I still think the Aura is a good car.

Fuel consumption problems are something that are quite hard to resolve simply because there are too many variables. Even if the car is tuned exactly according to the book, a lot depends on the way the car is driven and the driving habits of ...
