Adding to the controversy surrounding media election coverage, the
pro-Kremlin United Russia party is proposing the idea of running its own
dedicated television channel.
The party has asked the Moscow city government whether it can
broadcast a cable channel, in an unprecedented move that experts say adheres
with the existing election campaign laws but seems unlikely to benefit
the pro-Kremlin party's campaign significantly in the city.
