Article: USC study may have found memory loss cure

(Daily Trojan) (U-WIRE) LOS ANGELES -- A recent study completed by University of Southern California professors Michel Baudry and Richard Thompson may have uncovered a new drug that is possibly capable of preventing age-related memory loss.

The drug, which is soon to move into clinical trials, is believed to relieve oxidative stress, a condition where the balance between the pro-oxidant and antioxidant is disturbed by having too much oxygen in cells in the body.

Oxidative stress is known to be a leading cause of cognitive impairment and memory loss that people suffer from as they grow older.
