Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen declined to comment Tuesday about allegations by the International Committee of the Red Cross that the mental health of several terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay is deteriorating.

"Danish authorities regularly had and have contacts with the Danish prisoner at Guantanamo to make sure that he is treated well," Fogh Rasmussen said. "We are totally convinced that the Americans respect all international conventions."

The captive Dane, who has never been identified by the government, was arrested in Afghanistan and transferred to Cuba in February 2001.
