FDA says cloned animals safe to eat

WASHINGTON, Oct 31, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Cloned animals are safe to eat, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has determined.

An FDA report, due out next week, says cloned animals pose no greater risk to human health than normally bred animals, USA Today reported Friday.

The finding likely will mean the regulatory body will lift its voluntary ban on the sale of meat, milk and food products made from cloned animals, clearing the way for new fare at ...
