FED: Education the key to prevent female circumcision

SYDNEY, Oct 31 AAP - Female circumcision may not appear to have much to do with seatbelts
or bicycle helmets, but for Juliana Nkrumah the comparison is an important way of getting
her message across.
Ms Nkrumah has worked with women who have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM)
since 1995 when she became Australia's first FGM education officer.
Today she is a driving force behind the NSW education program on FGM, established in 1997.
Ms Nkrumah currently trains bilingual community workers and liaises with nine target
communities from Egypt, ...
