Van der Westhuizen revelling in World Cup swansong



MELBOURNE, Australia, Nov 5 (AFP) - After a broken leg, torn groin, three
knee reconstructions and 16 broken noses, South Africa scrum-half Joost van der
Westhuizen has only one regret - that he won't be around for much more
punishment.

Van der Westhuizen will play his last Test match against New Zealand here
Saturday, as the Springboks take on the All Blacks in a do-or-die World Cup
quarter-final at Docklands.

But 32-year-old van der Westhuizen admits he would have liked to haul his
battered body through another four-year cycle to the 2007 World Cup but knows
it is not possible.
