Fed: PM to discuss Aboriginal remains in UK

CANBERRA, Nov 6 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard will push for the repatriation of
Aboriginal remains when he flies to Britain tomorrow.

Mr Howard today welcomed an expert working group's recommendations to British parliament
that the remains of 15,000 Australian indigenous people held in museums and institutions
should be repatriated.

Most were collected in the 19th century as curios and scientific specimens and are
shrouded by allegations of theft and murder.
