Thursday, October 30, 2003 -- The war over the post-election spin began within minutes of the exit polls that announced partial results of Tuesday's municipal elections.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was first out of the gate, declaring a significant Likud victory and proclaiming that his party remains the dominant force at the municipal level.
