Leipzig's attempt to land the 2012 Olympics hit more trouble, with a third key official leaving and top German sports officials urging an investigation of the bid.

Burkhard Jung, the city official assigned to handle the Olympic bid, was removed from his job Friday after he was accused of improperly approving commissions to firms working on the bid.

Leipzig Mayor Wolfgang Tiefensee on Saturday said the district attorney must investigate. Leipzig's Olympic committee already has said it will ask the district attorney to take action.

The supervisory board for Leipzig's Olympic bid will meet Nov. 19.
