NT: RSPCA calls for banning of private zoos

DARWIN, Nov 13 AAP - Animal welfare group RSPCA today reiterated its call for a ban
on private zoos in Australia.

The call follows a dispute involving a private zoo collection 200km south of Darwin
in the Northern Territory, Tipperary Wildlife Sanctuary, owned by millionaire developer
Warren Anderson.

The fate of the animals remained uncertain today after the NT Supreme Court yesterday
granted the NT government an emergency injunction preventing Mr Anderson from destroying
the animals.

Mr Anderson was given two years to remove the 2,200 rare and exotic animals after selling
