SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 18 Reuters - San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds claimed the
National League Most Valuable Player award for a record third consecutive year today before
dedicating the honour to his father who died in August.
An emotional Bonds hailed his unprecedented sixth MVP award in the sport as the most
special of his Hall of Fame career.
The home run king becomes just the fourth athlete in the four major US sports to win
an MVP award six times. The NBA's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the NHL's Gordie Howe each won
six, while hockey legend Wayne Gretzky captured nine NHL ...
