Editor's note: This is the second in a series of stories based on extensive
analysis by The Moscow Times of the business presence on the federal and
regional lists of candidates put forward by the major political parties.
Businesses are working to get their people into the State Duma and
their party of first choice is United Russia, the biggest faction in the
current Duma and the Kremlin's favorite in the Dec. 7 election.
Almost all of Russia's big companies have put their representatives on
United Russia's party list, looking not only for the chance to influence
how laws are made but to show loyalty to President Vladimir Putin.
