THE red-shanked douc langur (Pygathrix nemaeus) is a large leaf- eating monkey found only in Indochina - in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

It has a grey back and underparts, with black hands, feet, brow, upper legs and shoulders. The knees and lower legs are a rusty-red. The cheeks and throat are white and the face a reddish brown with a white muzzle.
This highly elusive animal is rarely observed in the wild and, as such, its exact numbers in the wild are unknown.

It is a CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) Appendix 1 species, ...
