KUALA LUMPUR, Mon. - The New Straits Times-MasterCard Car of the Year Award can be a catalyst for the growth of the nation's automotive industry.
Malaysian Automotive Association president Aishah Ahmad said by having the award, industry players would ensure that only high quality products entered the market.
"This will create a healthy competition among foreign and local car makers. Local companies need to improve to win and foreign counterparts will not simply dump inferior products and think that people will buy them," she said.
