Even after Boeing dismissed two executives for misconduct in a proposed $20 billion contract for tanker aircraft, the U.S. Air Force's top acquisitions official, Marvin Sambur, distributed messages urging that the controversial deal be signed ''ASAP'' as soon as possible according to internal Pentagon e-mail messages provided on Friday by government officials critical of the project. The urgent missives sent by Sambur on Nov. 25 and 26 provide fresh evidence of how the air force and Boeing did not stay at arms' length.
