Tropical Storm Odette unleashed torrential rains that killed two people and forced thousands from their homes before it dissipated over the Atlantic on Sunday.

Odette, the first named storm on record to form in the Caribbean in December, dumped up to 7 inches (19 centimeters) of rain in southern areas of the Caribbean country, officials said.
