French police detained about 10 Egyptian suspects alleged to be planning an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Paris, but later determined that the threat was likely a false alarm, judicial officials said Monday.
After questioning the suspects, police believe they were not Islamic militants. Police found no weapons, explosives or extremist literature in their homes, the judicial officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
