NSW: Police winning battle against gun violence: Carr =2

Opposition police spokesman Peter Debnam later questioned how the premier could possibly
suggest police were winning the war on gun crime.

Mr Debnam branded the premier's reassurances as worthless, pointing to comments made
by Task Force Gain Chief Superintendent Bob Inkster.

"I've been a police officer for over 37 years now, I can't think of a time when we've
had such violent crime (as) what we've been facing of recent times," Chief Supt Inkster
told radio 2UE last night.

Mr Debnam said this highlighted the "worthlessness" of Mr Carr's reassurances today.
