West Indies captain Brian Lara survived a catch, dropped by former South African captain Shaun Pollock as the West Indies chase a first innings score of 561 on the third day of the first test at the Wanderers on Sunday.

Standing at first slip Pollock missed what appeared to be a simple catch, edged by Lara off the bowling of Makhaya Ntini.

Lara and opener Daren Ganga then took their lunch time score to 138 for the loss of two wickets, with the West Indies captain not out on 30 and Ganga unbeaten on 60.
