Ardent food lovers long have savored an ever-growing array of outlets devoted to cooking, including newspaper columns, magazines, books, Web sites, TV shows and even entire cable networks. But theater offers cooking fanatics something the others cannot _ aroma.

"Dinner With Demons," a one-man show written and performed by food writer Jonathan Reynolds, makes good use of its unique characteristics, treating theatergoers to savory scents from the moment they enter off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre.
