KUALA LUMPUR, Fri. - The time is not right to repeal the Internal Security Act given the current global security environment.
"However, the Government remains open to a review of the procedural aspects of the ISA in a non-political, orderly manner," Defence Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.
He said although many quarters had called for the abolition or review of the Act, it could not be repealed entirely.
Najib said this in his speech at the World Human Rights Day 2003 with the theme, Human Rights: Now and the Future, ...
