THE local stock market is expected to see more initial public
offerings (IPOs) next year as companies try to take advantage of the improving
economy and favourable market conditions.
Rating Agency Malaysia Bhd forecasts Malaysia's economy to grow 6.3
per cent in 2004. The Government has projected it to grow between 5.5 per
cent and 6 per cent.
On the benchmark Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Composite Index (KLCI),
analysts expect the index to rise further to the 900-point level next year.
Commerce International Merchant Bankers Bhd's co-head of corporate finance,
Tan Choon Thye, said companies will be keen to list their shares in view
