The Japan Bank for International Cooperation recently approved an issue
of baht-denominated bonds under the Asia Bond project.
Pitti Limsakul, adviser to Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha, said
Japanese Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki and Suchart discussed ways
to accelerate the Asia Bond project.
"The governments will urge institutions to issue baht bonds by the end
of this year," he said.
The Finance Ministry earlier gave approval to the Asian Development
Bank and the World Bank's International Finance Corp to issue baht bonds
worth Bt10 billion.
