The likely resurgence in domestic interest rates this year poses a threat
to the local stock market's two-year bull run, a senior analyst said yesterday.
However, the SET index would still tickle the 900-point level this
year, said Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, head of research at Tisco Securities.
His forecast was more optimistic than brokerage houses in the
conservative camp, which view the index peaking out at around 850.
"Although our stock market is on a roll, its risk is rising as it has
already reached the middle stage of its boom cycle and it's likely to see
the index dive below 700 points to lay a strong foundation for a further
upturn," ...
