PENANG, Fri. - The State Anti-Corruption Agency has arrested a 42- year-old man for duping the public by using Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's name to collect donations purportedly for a charity dinner.
Director Abu Kassim Mohamed said today the man, who was arrested on Nov 21 last year, would be charged in court soon for illegally using a politician's name to solicit funds.
He said the suspect had pocketed RM4,000 in donations when an ACA team nabbed him in Butterworth.
