SA: Domestic industry to embrace Adelaide-Darwin freight rail

ADELAIDE, Jan 13 AAP - Domestic industry would quickly embrace the Adelaide-Darwin
railway, to be opened on Thursday, FreightLink said today.

The first FreightLink train to travel the recently completed AustralAsia railway departs
Adelaide on Thursday for a 3,000km journey to Darwin.

"It's fulfilling a century-old dream to open up the red heart of Australia, link the
south to the north and have a gateway into Asia," FreightLink chief executive officer
Bruce McGowan said today.

"It's going to provide some great opportunities in terms of trade, tourism and be a
