(The California Aggie) (U-WIRE) DAVIS, Calif. -- In its Thursday meeting, the University of California system Board of Regents voted to allow the university to compete to manage its oversight of three national research laboratories.
The board did not formally decide to enter the competition to continue managing the Lawrence Berkeley, Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos national laboratories. But UC system Vice President for Laboratory Management Robert Foley said the regents' action allows the university to continue to prepare for competition without obligating the university to compete.
