THE bird flu virus, which undermined market sentiment yesterday, is
likely to continue weighing on investor confidence especially on selected
sectors in the next few days, but any further decline could prompt bargain-
hunting activities.
Dealers said counters that have been hit these past few days, largely
in poultry- and travel-related sectors, are likely to stabilise on opportunistic
buying unless the situation worsens.
The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) extended its loss yesterday, as
did regional markets, with investors continuing to be cautious.
The benchmark KLSE Composite Index (KLCI) fell to as low as 814.2
