The Arab League and China agreed Friday to boost economic and political ties by creating a new diplomatic forum.
The decision was made at the Arab League's headquarters in Cairo during talks between Chinese President Hu Jintao and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.
Jintao arrived in Egypt Thursday from Paris, France, for a four day visit to Egypt and first met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
"We announce the establishment of a forum for cooperation between the Arab states and China," Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing told reporters. He gave no details how the forum will work or when it would be established.
