NSW: Staff, inmate suffer smoke inhalation in jail blaze

SYDNEY, Feb 8 AAP - Five staff and an inmate of a NSW juvenile detention centre were
taken to hospital after a mattress was set alight.

More than 20 staff and inmates suffered smoke inhalation after the fire at Kariong
Juvenile Detention Centre at Mt Penang, north of Sydney, last night.

The fire damaged one cell and caused smoke damage to seven other rooms, the NSW Fire
