Japanese video game company Sega Corp. on Tuesday named a new chairman in a realignment of top management at the company behind Sonic the Hedgehog, selecting an executive from pinball machine maker Sammy Corp. which recently became its biggest shareholder.

Hajime Satomi, Sammy's 62-year-old president, replaced Hideki Sato, who takes the position of vice chairman of the new board.
