Ten: Defending champion Tanasugarn falls to unseeded Russian

HYDERABAD, India, Feb 20 AFP - Unseeded Russian teenager Maria Kirilenko knocked out
defending champion Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand 6-3 6-2 in the semifinals of the $US140,000
($A177,327) WTA Indian Open here today.

In Saturday's final, Kirilenko will take on fourth seeded Australian Nicole Pratt who
rallied to beat French player Marion Bartoli 4-6 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 in the other semifinal.

Tanasugarn, who required on-court treatment for her right knee, appeared to be struggling
and had few answers for the well directed returns from the quick- footed Russian.
