Washington has accepted Libya's affirmation of responsibility in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 explosion, and expects a U.S. travel ban to be lifted over the coming weeks, Libya's foreign minister said Thursday.
Abdel-Rahman Shalqam's remarks came a day after Libya restated its responsibility for the action of its officials in the Lockerbie explosion and described as inaccurate comments aired Tuesday by the prime minister that caused confusion.
Shalqam was asked on the sidelines of a meeting of African foreign ministers whether Washington had accepted Libya's fresh statements of responsibility.
