The first conjoined twin girls born at the National Naval Medical Center were described as in stable and healthy condition two days after their birth.
The two girls, joined at the abdomen, were delivered by Caesarean section on Feb. 26 about six weeks short of full term.
At the parents' request, the Navy hospital in suburban Bethesda, Md., has not released additional or updated information on the twins since the initial report when they were two days old.
A three-person surgical team and a neonatologist attended the births, which were completed with no complications, a hospital spokesman told The Washington Post.
