GENERATION 1: 1960s to 1970s Shopping in the old days in Kuala Lumpur and in the rest of the country meant going to two-storey pre- World War II shophouses in the main shopping precincts. In the case of KL, these were at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (then called Batu Road), Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Petaling and Jalan Sultan.
