Society today has become so politically correct that about the only jokes you can make today, without risking a lawsuit, are ones aimed at yourself -- and that is only true if you are not schizophrenic.
In fact aside from self deprecating humor there are only two targets left. The first target available is the race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation you belong to. The second target is white men.
Before everyone gets pissed off and starts calling me racist, sexist, or any of that crap just think for a minute. How many times in the last decade ...
